Start playing by picking teams to win based on the spread. The spread you see shown is always for the home team. When the spread shows +6, it states that the away team is favored to win by 6 points or more. If the spread shows -3.5 it means the home team is favored to win by more than 3.5 points.
NOTE:You must make a selection for all games in each week to make your picks qualify for that week.
You can play pick'em in the large pool as well as in groups. In order to play with a group of people you must create a group and get all the members to join. The rest works the same way as the big pool where each week you make your picks but in this case you can chat with your group members and see how you stack up v/s your friends and rivals on Fanpage. With groups you are also able to view your group members' picks after the deadline has passed each week. Playing in groups is separate from the big pool and you will have to make your picks for each group you are in separately.
The deadline to make your picks is always 1 hour before the first game of each week. For example the deadline to make your picks for week 1 games is 9/7/2006 7:30 pm (EST). Once the deadline has passed you will not be able to edit your picks and you can then view your picks through the link "view my stats".
When all the games in a particular week are completed your points will be tallied and put in as wins and losses. For every correct pick you make versus the spread you will receive 1 point. If the game ends in a tie you will not receive a point for that game only but the rest of the week's games will be scored as per usual. You are then ranked on the against other members who played in the pools or if you are in a group then you will get a rank in your group based on the number of correct picks you make.
